How does one get the idea to put a Honda engine into a Mini?
It was late october 2000, my Mini Estate got a bit long the tooth, it screamed for overhauling.
First of all everything out of there. After some very urgent welding work (there was a lot of rust), I looked beneath the bonnet.
This old chunk of cast iron should not be put in there any more.
No sooner said than done.On my search I found a Honda Civic ED7.
The engine made a good impression to me.
As opposed to the oldfashioned technique of A-series engines the Honda engine looked very uncomplycated..
Even if the first sight told me, the engine would never fit into the engine compartment. It did!
While doing the first test drive i was rewarded for so much work i allready had done.
